Art Show: ‘Modern Vices’ Brisbane, West End
Two Brisbane based roommates Aleja Hine and Zaide Allan, found themselves struck by the same predicament. As passionate artists and avid art consumers, appropriate settings for such events have been few and far between.
In typical Aussie fashion, the two decided to make use of their newly acquired residential space. Insert: the ‘Modern Vice’ Art Show, an avenue for local artists to have works appreciated without the constraints of burdening costs.
The basic structure of the event was conceived by practical means of supporting friends and local talent. One piece from the each individual artist was to be showcased, which allowed for an equitable space for each artist to promote their work.
The reactionary support from the community allowed for the event to be independently funded. Without intentions to make major gain from the the event, the duo (also known as ‘A2Z’) agreed on an incentive for the artists participation.
A complementary ‘People’s Choice Awards’ was held, in an attempt to promote commingling and interaction between different genres and art forms.
The ‘Modern Vice’ Arts Show concludes it’s open house viewing this Sunday. For further details and updates on future possible events, visit the links below.
