Local sneaker and vintage streetwear retailer PROJECT. has been making waves here in Brisbane. Since opening at their new location on James St in Fortitude Valley, the store has been supplying nothing but the hottest footwear and clothing available in the city. You can find anything from the latest Yeezy’s to vintage Jordan 1’s, as well as merch from the biggest artists and exclusive collabs between the most sought-after brands around the world. PROJECT. always delivers good vibes, and on October 23 the vibes were at an all-time high as moody lighting, a live DJ and thousands of roses decorated the entire store in preparation for the launch of Wale’s new album Folarin II.

The production for the event was incredible. The second I walked in I knew that this was a going to be a special night. If you fill a room with great people, inject some good vibes and top it off with awesome music, you get a match made in heaven. That’s what PROJECT. was able to deliver with this latest event.

As for the album, Wale delivered one of his most cohesive records to date. Blending elements of old-school hip-hop and trap, Folarin II sees Wale team up with J.Cole, Rick Ross and Jamie Foxx among others to produce a high-quality, well-rounded follow up to his 2012 mixtape Folarin. “New Balances”, “Name Ring Bell” and “Poke It Out” are the standout tracks for me on first listen.

If you’re in the Brisbane area and looking for some fresh kicks and unique vintage clothing, definitely head over to PROJECT. and keep an eye out for their next event. They’re only going to get bigger and better.
