Dickies: Summer Icons Shot by Raisa Abal

 Dickies, the iconic American workwear brand,renowned for their durable workwear are proud to release a new range of signature fits,rebuilt for summer.With modern touches and refined details, these refreshed styles are builtto keep you cool and comfortable all summer long.The campaign was shot by Raisa Abal, a multidisciplinary artist who uses photography to tellstories. Her passion for skateboarding culture led her to create Dolores Magazine dedicatedto women and gender minorities skateboarding, emphasised through the absence of representation in mainstream skateboarding media. Raisa’s approach focuses on authenticity and creating relatability through a refreshing perspective across art, streetwear and skateboarding.

Drawing inspiration from the evolution of workwear, this collection looks to bridge the gap between traditional trades and the dynamic world of modern professionals. From graphic designers and tattoo artists to social media entrepreneurs and DJs, the ability to balance multiple roles and lifestyles nods to the versatility of the product range. Reimagined from the brand’s beloved icons, styles have been crafted with lightweight fabric such as Poly Cotton Twill; designed for maximum comfort and style during warmer months. Poly Cotton Twill is a durable, hard-wearing fabric, a core component of Dickies Workwear. Its durability comes from the twill weave, where horizontal yarns cross over vertical ones in a diagonal pattern. This design helps evenly distribute friction and stress, making the fabric resistant to wear and tear, and reducing the risk of fraying or breaking. The garment dye wash creates a soft, drapey feel, increasing comfort and wearability. It also adds a unique, irregular effect, giving depth to the colour and highlighting the twill structure.

Key styles in the collection include: Unionville Work Pants - Loose-fit work pants with a soft, durable feel. The stretch fabric ensures comfortable movement offering both style and function. Unionville Work Shirt - A men's relaxed-fit button-up, designed with authentic details and construction. Crafted from a durable poly- cotton blend that has been garment dyed and enzyme washed for added comfort and built to last. Unionville 13-inch Shorts - A loose-fit style for men, crafted from 7oz garment-dyed and enzyme-washed 66 Cloth. Featuring front pleats, an elasticated waistband, a leg welt pocket and back welt pockets. Unionville Work Skirt - A straight-fit, mid-length pleated skirt with belt loops on waistband and made from a soft poly-cotton twill.
