How are you today? Hey, I’m great! Thanks for asking!
You’re known for your wordplay and confident flows! However when did you realise you had talent?
I realised I could rap as a child, from around 8/9. I was into poetry at first, and that’s when I knew that I liked rhyming. Applying my rhymes to a beat was like a lightbulb turning on. It just made sense.
You're about to release your new track Buju (Mad Hatter) what aspect are you most excited about in regards to this track?
I’m most excited about people hearing it fully. When I was in the studio recording it, I genuinely had a lot of fun with my producers. We were excited! So I hope that excited energy transcends through to the music, and people feel it how we did!
NEW VIDEO : Buju (Mad Hatta) WOHDEE
“No one refers to me as a mad hatta… Well not YET anyways, LOL. That line just came to me when I was free-styling, and it flowed, so I kept it. But I might start telling people it’s because I have hella hats lol. I do to be honest!
Last year you dropped popular track "Wauww" that showed a different level to your artistry as it took notes from Drill, would you say that you're in an era of trying different genres to challenge yourself or in order to not get put in a box just yet?
I’d never want to be put in a box, so I’m happy that my releases have all been somewhat different. However, this wasn’t strategized! Each individual song was once my favourite song at the time, and they all just made sense. It’s a coincidence that they’re all different, but I’m not mad
It's finally warming up over here in the UK, do you have any plans for the summer?
This summer I want to be here, there and everywhere. Dropping singles, going to shows, shooting videos. I also want to travel and hit some festivals. I say every year “this is the year I’m gonna’ perform at wireless”. It hasn't happened yet lol, but I know it will!
Dream collaboration?
Drake or Meek, then I’m fulfilled!
