INTRODUCING: JOYCE/ FLOWEROVLOVE
Flowerovlove, also known as Joyce Cisse, is 16 years old and already making waves in the music and fashion industries. She is a singer-songwriter as well as a model and stylist; she manages to do this all whilst studying full-time at school. Describing her sound as ‘cosy, mellow and soft’, Flowerovlove’s sanguine lyrics are beautifully blended with classic indie guitar riffs and a solid pop base; all the ingredients for an unshakable pop bop.
We sat down with her to discuss her up-and-coming EP ‘Think Flower’, the secret to finding your own self-love, and balancing school vs professional life.

You worked with an all-female team on your up-and-coming release, which we stan! Why was that important to you?
Having an all-female team is super mandatory for me. I want the best and women, we are the best. Women hold purity and strength and I always want that in the Flowerovlove family.
You’re up and coming EP ’Think Flower’ has a message of self-love within each song. What’s your prescription for self-love?
Feeling good when you’re alone. Making yourself laugh. Not caring what anyone else thinks because you’re secure as one and when looking in the mirror you feel pure dopamine.
What advice would you give anyone who is struggling to find their self-love and light?
You aren’t beautiful like them. You are beautiful like you. As soon as you embody your beauty you are the most powerful lover towards yourself. You have something that no one else has. You are amazing because you are you. Surround yourself with people who make you laugh until you cannot breathe, and they speak positively of everything. Everything is working out for you more than you think. If something didn’t happen it just wasn’t the best and you deserve the best -so start excepting the best.

What’s the most exciting thing about this release?
That each song has a different feel yet everything is on the same wave. What I still get excited about with 'Think Flower' is the message of being in love with yourself. Just choose to do that by starting off your day by stretching or taking five mins to stop and breathe. What I highly recommend is writing down 3 things you’re grateful for and 1 thing you’ve overcome.
What do your friends at school think of it?
We are currently in exam season and quoting my friends from two days ago: ‘Why would we revise? Listening to your EP is way more important.’ I love my friends so much.
